Custom adoptable for an art trade with the staggeringly awesome ~jailberd.
She wanted a dark, naturally colored "gothic lolita" style dog with faded, glowing markings this color blue: [link]
You do NOT have to read all this, I am just ranting my artist angst:
I pretty much spent all day working on this, on and off, because I was so frustrated with it. NONE of the markings I tried looked anywhere near decent. The color was difficult to get to look good for some reason, and no markings seemed to match the style of the dog. Finally, I went with a rose because I thought it suited her very well, and I was able to make it glowy. Unfortunately, I had to dim the pretty blue so that it didn't look stupid. -_- I'm REALLY not sure how I feel about this. I've never been so stressed making a piece before. I was really putting a lot of pressure on myself because the trade I am getting in return is such a higher skill level than my own, and it's not even my own lineart. Then worst of all, what was requested wasn't working out. But I'm proud of myself because I kept going and finished it. I even really like the way I did the highlights!
Oh and it was the first time I'd ever used the brush tool...I had always used the pencil tool in the past. 0.0
pointed out to me that the brush is what normal people use, lol. Anyways yes better results, but it was very maddening learning how to use this new tool! It kept not doing what I wanted it to do. -_-
Anyways someone PLEASE comment on this and tell me it doesn't look stupid. Because I really can't tell. :/

Nice choice of colors they really compliment each other and the add of turquoise really adds an elegant touch to it ;]
